Urasuji Academy offers continuous education from elementary through university levels, but enforces a strict policy: students must meet minimum academic standards to advance to the next grade. A student attempting to move from middle to high school hits this academic barrier and faces the possibility of being held back. The school summons the parents and warns that if performance does not improve, the student will be forced to transfer elsewhere. Desperate to preserve their association with the prestigious Urasuji Academy, the parents grow anxious and desperately seek a way for their child to advance. As a result, they agree to a special "remedial program" that takes the form of a trip.
