Self-Defense Force soldier Tanaka responds to a report of civilians being attacked by beasts and heads to the scene, only to be captured by an alien. The alien kills Tanaka's superior, Ikagami, and leaves Tanaka on the brink of death. His only hope comes in the form of female detective Misako Kiriu. Once a member of the Self-Defense Force herself, Misako lost her comrades and suffered severe injuries during a previous alien attack. Driven by that trauma, she now hunts down the aliens still hiding on Earth, operating as a detective by day and a warrior by night. Tanaka pleads for her help, but she refuses, seeing him as a liability. When Tanaka attempts to fight the alien alone, his body is taken over and controlled. Misako is also captured and subjected to intense torture by the alien.
