In 1930s Japan, while young people moved to cities for work, rural villages still maintained strong communal bonds and traditional customs. In one such village, Kazuko (Rina Ayana) marries in and learns from her sister-in-law, Sachiko (Yuri Mizuhashi), about an enduring local tradition—night crawling. Sosan, the village's respected youth leader, has requested Kazuko under this custom. Torn and conflicted, Kazuko finds herself swept up by the village atmosphere and social pressure, gradually drawn into the intimate ritual.
