Married woman Michiko (49 years old). Five years into her marriage, no children. Her husband is ten years older, introduced through a friend. Though they frequently argue, they get along well enough to go shopping and travel together on weekends. Yet for some reason, she embarks on a one-night, two-day trip with a complete stranger. She claims her reason was "wanting an adventure," but beneath that lies dissatisfaction and loneliness in her marriage. Tired of her relationship with her husband, she seeks to fill the emotional void by growing intimate with a man she just met. Throughout the 24-hour journey, she repeatedly murmurs how sorry she feels toward her husband. Tormented by the monotony of daily life and the weakening bond with her spouse, she directs these emotions toward the man. By the end of the trip, the sorrow buried deep within her heart is finally released, giving birth to a new, emerging emotion.
