Yuna, who works at a general hospital, is married to Makoto, a self-centered rationalist who has no time or concern for family life. Though Yuna loves her husband, she feels suffocated by his rigid and selfish mindset. One day, when Yuna falls ill, Makoto scolds her for poor self-management instead of showing concern. Fearing that her condition might become known at the hospital and bring shame upon the family, he treats it as a private disgrace and calls in Yamashita, a visiting physician who works independently, to handle the situation at their home.
